A New Chapter in Sustainability: Introducing Nozomi Energy’s Guiding Principles and Strategy
We are building something special at Nozomi Energy, and we took an important step forward on October 21st with the launch of our Sustainability Guiding Principles and Sustainability Strategy at our company’s first Sustainability Day.
We believe that no other renewable energy operator in Japan has yet developed such a comprehensive, integrated approach to sustainability. Our new principles extend beyond our mission to deliver clean and reliable renewable power. They define how we aim to work collaboratively with local communities, how we contribute to nature conservation, and how we embed responsibility into every part of our business.
Anchored in our overall framework of responsible business practices and fully aligned with the world-class Sustainable Investment Policy of Actis, these new Sustainability Principles are a true differentiator for Nozomi. They strengthen our credibility, reinforce our values, and will accelerate our long-term growth.
I would like to thank all of our team members, now almost 40 strong—who joined the session, contributed ideas, and showed real determination to “walk the talk.” It was inspiring to hear so many practical suggestions on how we can make our offices more sustainable by reducing energy consumption, lowering emissions, and improving recycling.
Special thanks to Polly Firman from Actis for joining us and clearly explaining the Actis approach that underpins much of our strategy. And, of course, to Yasu Hibi, our Head of Sustainability, for leading the preparation and guiding all of us throughout the day.
It was a valuable and energizing session, and it marks only the beginning of a journey we are committed to pursuing together.
