On July 7, 2026, Jose Antonio Millan Ruano, CEO of Nozomi Energy, and Naoshi Tochimaru, Mayor of the town of Mukawa, Hokkaido signed a memorandum of understanding on collaborating for disaster recovery and reconstruction, achieving a safe and secure society, and supporting decarbonization. This is the first partnership that Nozomi Energy has entered into with a municipality for the purpose of strengthening local cooperation and disaster recovery as well as reconstruction efforts. Through this partnership we also aim to contribute to decarbonization efforts and provide emergency power supplies during disasters.
In February of 2026, we acquired and took over operation of the Delta solar power project in Mukawa. Our focus was on continuing its operation, and establishing a partnership with the town. We are impressed by Mukawa’s resilience and reconstruction initiatives after the Eastern Iburi Earthquake in 2018, and hope to serve as a partner that can strengthen the cities disaster preparedness, advance decarbonization and support recovery and reconstruction efforts in the even of a future disaster, such as providing emergency power supplies. As a first step, we are working on establishing an emergency reporting line to ensure smooth and effective communication with the town. As a member of the Mukawa community, we take our social responsibility to heart and are looking forward to further exploring how we can contribute to the town’s revitalization and development.

Mayor Tochimaru remarked that he hopes that Nozomi’s expertise and technology combined with Mukawa’s rich natural environment and local resources can contribute to creating a sustainable and attractive community. We at Nozomi take the mayor’s wishes seriously and are looking forward to working together closely with the municipality to achieve this goal.
