Celebrating Two Years of Impact: Nozomi Energy’s Journey to 900MW and Beyond

Nozomi Energy reached its second anniversary this May and in just two years we have built a portfolio approaching 900MW of renewable energy projects and assembled a nearly 40-strong team led by highly experienced international management.  We will soon have more than 30 projects in operation or development, spanning solar, onshore wind and battery storage, putting Nozomi on track towards its 1.1GW target for 2027.  Never before, to our knowledge, has a renewables platform in Japan scaled this rapidly.

Navigating Challenges, Driving Progress

Our achievement is all the more notable given an increasingly difficult market environment, with local resistance to new renewables projects growing in this country and rising environmental skepticism globally.  What motivated us over these intense and fast-paced two years and what gives us confidence in the future are the skills of our team, the enthusiastic backing of our sponsor Actis and the shared sense of mission we bring to work every day.

A Look Ahead: Scaling with Purpose

Looking to the future, we are not only committed to expanding our project pipeline but also to embedding sustainability at the core of our operations. We will soon unveil a comprehensive sustainability policy—a framework we hope will raise the bar for the entire sector in Japan.

As we celebrate this two-year milestone, our focus remains clear:  to accelerate the energy transition, deliver long-term value, and lead with integrity and ambition.
